Where little children get food - often their only meal of the day - stimulation, love and care.
At Help the Rural Child we believe passionately that every child needs to be given a chance to grow into a well-rounded, happy and contributing individual. We are committed to doing whatever we can to enable them to get that first little foot on the ladder out of poverty through early learning.
Our Nursery Scheme starts with babies, especially those who are at risk. When they are older, they attend our pre-school programme. It is widely known that children who attend a pre-school will do better at school than those children that do not. In our programme they get stimulation, love, creative play opportunities, specialist help and basic care, including food (possibly their only meal for the day) and clothing. These are things that they do not always get at home. So we want to put as many children as we can through our early learning and care facilities.
Education of the child is our foremost aim but our programme has the added benefit of giving very hard-pressed mothers a break.
